Terms of Service

Last Updated: 9 April 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of bzz.nu, a link-shortening and micro-site service operated by Junovy, a business registered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (KvK 71813977). By creating an account or using bzz.nu, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who We Are

bzz.nu is provided by Junovy, an independent Dutch business headquartered at [protected address], The Netherlands. In these Terms, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Junovy. “You” means the person or legal entity using bzz.nu.

2. The Service

bzz.nu lets you:

  • Shorten URLs — turn a long URL into a compact one (for example, bzz.nu/abc123) that redirects to your destination.
  • Create custom slugs — pick your own memorable path.
  • Build micro sites — create simple, single-page link-in-bio profiles at slugs like bzz.nu/mybrand.
  • See aggregate click analytics — count how many times your links have been followed.

bzz.nu is a Software-as-a-Service product. We host it, we maintain it, and we may update it over time. We do not offer hosting, consulting, or custom development as part of the bzz.nu service.

3. Accounts

3.1 Eligibility

To create an account you must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) and capable of entering into a binding agreement. If you are using bzz.nu on behalf of an organisation, you must have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

3.2 Account security

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Authentication is handled by our identity provider (Keycloak) at auth.junovy.com. We strongly recommend enabling multi-factor authentication when it becomes available. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact [protected email] immediately.

3.3 One account per person

You may create one account. Multiple accounts to evade limits, bans, or abuse investigations are not permitted.

4. Your Content

“Your Content” means the URLs you shorten, the micro-site pages you build, and any text, images, or links you upload. You retain all rights to Your Content. By uploading it to bzz.nu you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you and your visitors.

You are solely responsible for Your Content. You represent that you have all necessary rights to upload it and that it does not violate these Terms or any applicable law.

5. Fees

bzz.nu is currently in public preview and is free to use within reasonable limits. We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice before charging any existing account, and you will always have the option to export your data and close your account first.

6. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To keep bzz.nu responsive for everyone, we enforce technical limits:

  • A per-IP rate limit applies to the public short-link endpoint (/:slug). Requests that exceed the limit receive HTTP 429 (“Too Many Requests”).
  • Reasonable limits apply to link creation, micro-site creation, and API requests. The exact limits are published in the dashboard and may be adjusted over time.
  • Automated, high-volume link creation through scripts or bots requires prior written permission. Contact [protected email] if you need a higher quota for a legitimate use case.

We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these limits or attempt to circumvent them.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

This section is the most important one in these Terms. Link shorteners are sometimes abused to hide the destination of harmful links. bzz.nu does not permit this, and we will act on valid reports.

7.1 Prohibited Content and Behaviour

You must not use bzz.nu to create, host, or distribute links that lead to, or micro-site pages that contain:

  • Phishing, credential harvesting, or impersonation. You may not use bzz.nu to trick people into entering passwords, payment details, or personal data on fake login pages. You may not impersonate any person, brand, or organisation.
  • Malware distribution. You may not link to executables, droppers, exploit kits, or any content designed to compromise a visitor’s device.
  • Spam or unsolicited bulk messaging. You may not use bzz.nu short links in bulk email, SMS, or messaging campaigns that recipients did not request.
  • Illegal content. You may not link to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that facilitates terrorism, illegal drug marketplaces, incitement to violence or hatred, or any other material that is unlawful in the European Union or the Netherlands.
  • Infringement of third-party rights. You may not link to content that infringes copyright, trademarks, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights.
  • Violations of export controls and sanctions. You may not use bzz.nu to distribute content in violation of applicable EU sanctions or export-control law.
  • Doxxing and harassment. You may not use bzz.nu to publish personal data of private individuals without their consent, or to target anyone with harassment, threats, or intimidation.
  • Circumvention of security measures. You may not use bzz.nu to bypass the security controls of other services, evade their rate limits, or hide the source of automated traffic.
  • Automated high-volume link creation. Scripted bulk link creation without our prior written permission is prohibited (see § 6).

7.2 Enforcement

We do not pre-screen the links you create; bzz.nu does not perform active monitoring of user-generated content (see our role under Article 8 of the EU Digital Services Act). However, when we become aware of a violation — through a user report, an automated abuse signal, or an external notice — we act.

Depending on the severity of the violation, we may:

  • Disable the specific short link or micro site without warning.
  • Suspend your account pending investigation.
  • Terminate your account and delete your data.
  • Report the matter to law enforcement where required by law.

7.3 Notice and Takedown

If you believe a short link or micro site on bzz.nu violates these Terms or the law, please report it via our Notice and Takedown procedure or by emailing [protected email]. We handle reports in accordance with Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act.

8. Account Termination

8.1 By you

You may close your account at any time from the dashboard. On closure, Your Content is scheduled for deletion within 30 days. You may export your data before closing (see § 9 of the Privacy Policy).

8.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, in particular the Acceptable Use Policy in § 7. For clear-cut violations (malware, phishing, CSAM) we may act immediately and without notice. For other violations we will, where practical, notify you and give you a reasonable opportunity to cure.

If we terminate your account for cause, no refund is owed for any prepaid period, though we will always export your non-violating data on request where legally permitted.

9. Warranty Disclaimer

bzz.nu is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. During the public preview period, we do not offer a formal Service Level Agreement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, Junovy’s total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or related to bzz.nu in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of:

  • The total amount you paid us for the service during that 12-month period; or
  • One hundred euros (€100).

In no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death, personal injury, or intentional misconduct.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Junovy harmless from any claim, demand, damages, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of bzz.nu, or your breach of these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last Updated” date and, where the change is significant, notify signed-in users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of bzz.nu after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Nothing in this clause prevents a consumer from bringing proceedings in the courts of their EU country of residence where mandatory consumer-protection law provides that right.
